Transforming Life Quality Bangalore, India

The task was to transform an existing house, which was dark, unkempt and had a narrow staircase. The design intervention connected the different floors, with a cascading staircase leading through the house to the top floor.

The living, kitchen and dining spaces were created on the top floor connected to the terrace. The lower floors consisted of the bedrooms and the toilet. A private outdoor area was created on the terrace, made to look inwards by raising the parapet walls around the terrace. Several colors were introduced to alter the moods created by certain spaces, along with wide openings to bring in more light.

The architectural interventions contribute to the efficiency of spatial organization, availability of light, ventilation, and accessibility of all spaces.
