SWISS CONSULATE GENERAL AND SWISSNEX INDIA OFFICE BANGALORE, INDIA

The two offices of the Swiss government have started using the brand new space designed by IN:CH in many creative ways. Every week numerous important events and exhibitions are held now, which makes us happy as architects.

The task was to transform three high-end residential apartments into the office space for the Consulate General of Switzerland and Swissnex India. We had to conform to the Swiss building standards and norms for electrical, power and all interior works in an existing building. This was a challenge, as we had to find ways to provide for large electrical demands within the existing structure of beams and columns. By removing some walls we could create a sense of transparency and a wide, striking, open space.

The elegance and transparency in the building have an influence on the users of the space. It brings a sense of flexibility and openness. We had to work against time to complete this project in four months with efficient planning. A special aspect of the project is the main exhibition space with normal white walls with magnetic strips embedded within. The furniture combined with the interiors gives a special identity to space.
