In-Ch Lab

The students tried to make a housing society a zero waste society through their intervention. They also build toilets for the cleaning ladies with waste material from around the area. It has been accepted well by the community and they have been involved to build it together with the team.

The Malur- Sustainable Rural Housing project is in full swing. A small ceremony was conducted on the site by the beneficiary- Mr. Aanjanappa and the villagers. This marks the beginning of both- the construction and the learning processes. The construction has finally begun with a training session by Sudhakar from Mrinmayee

UIA invited us to exhibit projects for the topic of „Health and the City“ on a word conference end of Septembre 2011 in Tokyo. The „Transcultural Studies India Studio in:ch 2011“ is going to work out projects for slum settlement developments in Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Bangalore. 15 students from Bern University of Applied Sciences Switzerland Department of Architecture, Wood and Civil Engineering and 10 students from Kamla Raheja Vidyanidhi Institute of Architecture and Environmental Studies Mumbai India are creating in intercultural teams sustainable concepts for future processes in slum redevelopment.

Students and faculty members from Swiss universities of applied sciences will learn together with the Indian students and specialists, on how to build with bamboo, earth and other local materials

After 6 weeks in Bangalore and 15 weeks in India at IN:CH studio every one was eager to see the outcome of the learning. The students worked on 3 campus projects in 6 groups. The learning from different destinations of the studio was used in the final studio project of campus design. The feedback from the experts was very positive. They commented about the high quality of work and understanding the students achieved in short period of 6 weeks. The panel of experts present were landscape architects Mohan Rao, Architect Deepa M and Urban planner Brinda Shastry.The final review of the IN:CH studio 2013 was on 3rd June. It was held at the office of Swissnex India which is recently renovated by IN:CH architects in collaboration with swissnex india.

An indo-swiss- cooperation is not great just in architecture but also in sports!

At IN:CH, we like to follow sustainable and green practices even beyond design. That is why we incorporate the use of organic vegetables in our lunch.

Today is the opening of Jaipurphoto exhibition. We have designed the pavilion at Jawahar Kala Kendra. The visitors are adapting the installation. They posing for picture. We kept frames empty for that.

The pavilion is now under construction with great help from the Pearl Academy, Jaipur and other specialists. A good preparation makes the work efficient. We do the work with our respect to the work which the architect Charles Correa has created, the ‘Jawahar Kala Kendra’. This building complex has so many interesting links to Vastu, to astronomy and astrology, as well as to pink, the colour of the city of Jaipur.
