URAVU Resort Project

URAVU Resort Project

URAVU in Wayanad is a nationally known organization. We learned as architects that they know how they construct with bamboo, how they paint on bamboo, how they breed varieties in bamboo, how we can create articles like lamps, baskets, and pens in bamboo. Our partners not only work with bamboo, they think bamboo. IN:CH architects and planners in Bangalore use and practice the competences in sustainable architecture, design and planning from India and Switzerland and create a third culture. Let’s call this IN:CH. As architects we support everything we can do to grow together and to become more and more one team, let’s call this URAVU-IN:CH. In other words we developed with experts the master plan with a water and energy-cycle-system. The architecture for eleven houses, a restaurant, a reception building, a staff quarter, a water tower and an arena is developed and designed related to the requirement of the particular site, which is a unique, beautiful landscape.

The exceptional news for this studio is that for the first time architecture students and civil engineering students from Switzerland are going to work together with Indian students. The topic for the studio is ‘URBAN SUBCULTURE’. IN:CH architects with BUAS and other partners, Footprint earth, Kamala Raheja Vidyanidhi Institute for Architecture and Biome environmental solutions Pvt. Ltd. has started the preparation. In Ahmedabad and Mumbai the analysis about fringe groups in the cities in India is made.
