To be open to get inspired through art, automatically has an influence on the work in design

IN:CH brings theory and practice together with the experimental furniture with the skills of our carpenters. The furniture is an experiment and represents the IN:CH philosophy of simplicity and functionality. We make chairs and a sofa in this process.

5 students has given their time and power to build the Swiss pavilion for the Jaipurphoto exhibition. They have showed us special parts of the city of Jaipur with excellent handicraft work and workshops. We could introduce our work to them and to many other design students at their education institute the Pearl Academy in Jaipur. These are always opportunities for next cooperation with the attitude of learning. The University building, done by Morphogenesis, is a very good sample for sustainable architecture. It’s a transformation in the sense of learning from the past and applying to the future.

Jürg Grunder has won the Credit Swiss Award for Best Teaching 2010. He is pleased and hopes this will help support the activities of the studio. This way, in the future even more students could profit by this offer. All those experiences leave their mark on the practical architectural work for projects and studies of in:ch architects.

A project to work on dwellings and habitat with bamboo will be offered to thesis students from Bern University of Applied Sciences. They would work in Western Ghats region in Kerala and with the specific material to create architectural solutions. They will also be exposed to the bio diversity and social context of the region while creating design concepts with bamboo. For this we collaborate with URAVU.

Juerg Grunder was invited at IIM Bangalore to explain about management strategies in India. This was a chance for him to assimilate his management experiences in working strategies and to bring them forward at such a platform.

IN:CH Academy is a future education model at one location with three activities: school of architecture, competence center and vocational training. The platform will be the meeting point to create partnerships between Indian and Swiss companies.

Drop by for the lecture on sustainable contemporary architecture by Juerg Grunder on the 12th of March, 7 pm!

Students from Bern University of Applied Sciences and National Institute of Technology Calicut, Kerela have participated together in a workshop on a live site. The task for the civil engineering students was to create and construct a water tower with solar panels and a staircase reaching a watching platform. The task for the architecture students was to create characteristic interventions for the resort which combines several architectural elements. The key design words were elegant, light and sustainable. The faculty members and students will never forget this intercultural event.

Bern University of Applied Sciences, Architecture School offers studies in Architecture + Design or Architecture + Management or Architecture + Technology to students. This project is an excellent sample to bring international competences and transcultural concepts of BUAS and Czech Republic students together.
