IN:CH- HKB Study trip 2015

It shouldn’t be just students but also teachers who should be encouraged to go for their further education. This was the background and motivation to organize a study trip for the employees of the Bern Hochschule der Künste HKB, the Bern University of the Arts. This marked the beginning of a collaboration between HKB and IN:CH over a range of topics such as art, architecture, and culture.

In Mumbai, our longtime partner Kamla Raheja School of Architecture assisted and showed us around the different building typologies, commercial places, and informal markets, as well as some art and cultural sites.

At Silicon City, Bangalore, we found traditional and forward-looking activities on our core themes and the impact of the economic recovery, the traffic for example.

In Cochin, we immersed ourselves in exploring and admiring contemporary art at the Biennale in a half-ruined district.

The study tour had such a profound effect on the participants that they still talk about their experiences from the trip and of attending India’s second Art Biennial even today.
