Waste Garden Bangalore, India

Waste is perceived to be a negative thing and yet waste is found everywhere. There are companies specialized in collecting, separating, segregating and recycling it. What if we were to upcycle waste as a building material?

In this project, cubes made of various materials, such as beer bottles and PET bottles, wood from packaging material, aluminum cans, plastic containers, etc. are combined to build an exhibition park. People using the park can explore the spaces created and discover what it feels like to be in a plastic bottle house or in a house built with tin boxes. Trees are deliberately planted between the cubes so that a dialogue about artificial spaces vs. natural spaces is initiated.
